Coach Ross Award

The Coach Ross Award is named after Mr. Thomas Ross, long-time assistant coach within the program. Coach Ross joined the Stoga boys squash team after retiring from his career in law. Having overseen the development of his own sons as squash players and growing up in the hallowed courts of Merion Cricket Club, Coach Ross was a perfect fit for the budding Stoga team. Coach Ross led the Varsity B team to TWO National titles and multiple historic wins during his tenure. Although he has “officially” retired from the coaching ranks, Coach Ross continues to remain a fixture at many of the home matches- his oft-uttered phrase: “Take no prisoners!” rings in the ears of Stoga boys, past and present.

Coach Ross

The award is given each year to a member of the team who, as deemed by the coaching staff, has embodied the character of Coach Ross through sportsmanship, work-ethic, and dedication to the program.
